Max Foucaut is a Paris born, California raised, London based — Menswear Designer.

The MF label tells the narrative of :

French HERITAGE, Californian CULTURE, and London CRAFTSMANSHIP.

DESIGN STYLE  - My designs draw inspiration from the threads of my multicultural heritage while reflecting on the past. Born exploring the historic and elegant architecture in Paris to France’s agricultural countryside, I later grew up in Southern California, absorbing the beachside lifestyle which instilled in me a value for nature and sustainability, to learning tailoring craftsmanship in London. My French grandfathers significantly impact the Menswear I design today, coming from contrasting environments — a farmer in workwear to a businessman in tailored suits. My work blends French workwear, relaxed Californian silhouettes, while pursuing London’s sartorial craftsmanship to create a personal narrative of Tailoring, Workwear, and Fragrances.

EARLIER LIFE, EDUCATION, & TRAINING - From a young age, drawing became a daily practice. An instinct to print illustrations on garments was born. At 14, screen printing illustrations and digital artwork became a profitable hobby. At 16, a desire to explore the construction of garments emerged. Gracefully taught how to sew and work with pattern blocks by my two French grandmothers, provided a source of answers. Completing a program in fashion business and garment production in Los Angeles for two years led to self-driven, self-taught cut and sewn projects as a result of the entrepreneurial course. I gained industry experience and a thoughtful mentor in pattern drafting, garment construction, and fabric developing with an experienced bespoke tailor in Savile Row - Mayfair while completing the BA Menswear - Fashion Design course at Central Saint Martins in London (2023).
