015 - GREEN LEAF TRENCH
GREEN LEAF DYED COTTON LINEN
- MADE IN LONDON -
During the late 19th century, the evolution from greatcoats to trench coats was pioneered by textile innovators who wanted a breathable, weather-resistant outer layer. Originally developed for trench warfare during World War I, the coat soon evolved to meet the practical demands of civilian life and travel. A century past, we present a refined take on the trench coat.
The pattern cutting for this trench coat is among the most considered in the collection. It features a rounded front bodice technique, where the front panel and sleeve are cut as a single continuous piece, wrapping from the front body over the shoulder and flowing seamlessly into the sleeve along with the signature cut out front pockets.
