VINTAGE 1800’s FRENCH COTTON
BOTANICALLY DYED BY ARTISANAL DYERS
- MADE IN LONDON -
In 19th-century France, cotton was prized for its lightness and durability. Today, surviving pieces are considered rare artifacts and works of art. Woven on hand looms and sometimes finished with ornamental hand-embroidered initials or crests, this cotton remains one of the most remarkable fabrics ever created.
Each Waistcoat is expertly sewn by specialized machinists in East London and garment-dyed locally by an artisanal dyer. The two-week natural botanical dyeing process creates a subtle mid-grey hue, with each piece developing unique gradations. Each piece made with varying vintage cottons from the 1800’s, every waistcoat is a singular creation, a living link to history and craftsmanship.
